The Opinionated Baker is the author and opinionator-in-chief of Bread Lab. The book teaches his system, the app supports learning and using and documenting the use of the system, and this site provides a reference source for system data and modules. The Opinionated Baker's opinions are the point: decades of baking, experimentation, failure, refinement, and study, turned into a system you can actually follow.
Born in New York, educated in North Carolina (Duke University, '85), Danny is a trained cook and baker, headshot and set photographer, kombucha brewer, and serial hobbyist, currently living in Los Angeles, California, happily and variously known as Dad, Daddy, Pop, Popsicle, Paparazzi, and Bread Devil.
He is husband to retired, leggy, theatre goddess, Lauren Kosarin, father to actress, singer, producer, writer and director Kira Kosarin, father-in-law to brilliant multi-hyphenate Max Chester, and, more recently, chew toy to Miss Penny Doodle Kosarin, a rambunctious and very sweet Bernedoodle landshark.
