Privacy

The short version

This site collects only what you choose to give it. If you sign up for updates, that is your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. If you email us directly, we use your address to reply. There are no accounts and no analytics.

Email updates

The signup form is managed by Mailchimp. When you use it, your email address and optional first name are sent to Mailchimp, along with the signup source and the technical information Mailchimp keeps to operate the list and prevent abuse, such as the time, IP address, and confirmation status.

The list uses double opt-in: Mailchimp sends you one confirmation email, and you are not subscribed unless you click its confirmation link. We use the list only for updates about The Opinionated Baker, The Sourdough Formula, and Bread Lab. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers keep standard, short-lived request logs to run the service. That's infrastructure, not something we use to identify you.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your information. We do not use the signup list for advertising. If analytics or a contact-form service is ever added, it will be named here first. This policy changes before the site's behavior does, not after.
